The BIAL Foundation supports projects in the fields of Psychophysiology, Parapsychology, and projects that interconnect both areas. The results of these investigations have been widely published in prestigious scientific journals indexed in the Web of Science and/or Scopus, ensuring visibility and credibility for the work carried out.
The latest data, as of February 2025, clearly reflect the impact of this support: the 927 supported projects have already resulted in 2.141 scientific articles published in indexed journals, with 1.897 of these appearing in journals with an average impact factor of 4.1. Of these articles, almost half were published in journals belonging to the first quartile (Q1) in their respective scientific field.
Additionally, 389 articles were published in journals with an impact factor of 5 or higher, highlighting the high quality of the studies conducted. The scientific production supported by the Foundation has accumulated over 54.000 citations, with 691 publications exceeding 20 citations each, demonstrating the growing interest and influence of these studies in the global scientific community.
The support of the BIAL Foundation has been crucial for the advancement of a more open, integrative, and innovative science. By investing in cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects, the Foundation not only promotes a deeper understanding of the brain, mind, and human being but also encourages the exploration of less conventional research domains, challenging the limits of established knowledge and contributing to truly transformative science.
