The chairman of the BIAL Foundation, Luís Portela, was awarded the Medal of Honor from Vila Nova de Gaia on June 20. The attribution act was carried out in a ceremony as part of the Municipality Day celebration.
This distinction confers upon Luís Portela the title of Honorary Citizen of Vila Nova de Gaia, a tribute intended to recognize and honor services of exceptional relevance to the well-being and interests of society.
“It was with enormous satisfaction that I received the news of being awarded the Medal of Honor by Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia. It is with great honor and gratitude that I accept this distinction, but also with a high sense of responsibility.”, stated Luís Portela.
The awarding of the Medal of Honor aims to distinguish dignitaries, personalities, and institutions, national or foreign, who have provided relevant service to society, contributing to the good name and prestige of the Municipality and to its national and international outreach.
