BIAL Foundation includes, for the mandate 2022-2025, Patrícia Teixeira Lopes as non-executive member of its Board of Directors. The economist, with a PhD in Business Sciences from the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto, she joins Luís Portela (Chairman), Daniel Bessa, Nuno Sousa and Miguel Portela.
Patrícia Teixeira Lopes is associate dean at Porto Business School and assistant professor at Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto. She is member of the Board of Trustees of Fundação Santander Portugal, member of the Remunerations Committee of Caixa Geral de Depósitos and member of the Audit Committee of NOS SGPS.
She was pro-rector of Universidade do Porto for seven years, director of the Euronext Training Department and consultant for several institutions and companies.
She is the author of numerous publications in national and international journals. She received the Professor Manuel Baganha Prize (Prémio Economista Revelação 2008), awarded by AAAFEP – Associação dos Antigos Alunos da Faculdade de Economia do Porto, and the Fundação Eng. António de Almeida Prize for the graduated student with the highest classification in Management of the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto.
For Patrícia Teixeira Lopes, assuming this position at the BIAL Foundation is “an enormous privilege, as I join an institution of international reference in supporting scientific research in the area of health, with important and recognized contributions to improve human lives and benefits to society.”
